Meet Freedom251 – the cheapest smartphone on earth

Definitely this news might be ringing bells in your mind. But yes its happening. A company called Ringing Bells has launched the most affordable smartphone called “Freedom251” priced at Rs. 251/- ($4 USD).

Powered with Android 5.1 (Lollipop) this smartphone offers 4 inch qHD IPS Display, 1.3 Ghz quad core processor. It comes loaded with with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Memory expandable upto 32GB via microSD card.

Other features include 3.2 MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera and 1,450mAH battery. Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS.

It comes pre-installed with applications like Women Safety, Swach Bharat, Firsherman, Farmer, Medical and many other applications which may become handy for farmers and students as well.

The phone Warranty covers 12 months for the device, 6 months for Battery and Charger, and 3 months for Earphone commencing from the date of purchase. Other damages caused due to misuse, fire, liquid or physical damage won’t be covered under warranty.

Some of the websites, which got access to phone, reported that the phone bears the logo of Adcom It looks similar to Adcom Ikon 4 and even has the same configuration.

Freedom251 was launched in Delhi today, by India’s Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. And in attempt to promote Prime Minister’s “Digital India” vision, Ringing Bells has taken a step to connect every citizen of India.

As per the Freedom251’s official website, this phone will sold online on their official website. Which is going to go live for sale on 18th Feb, 2016 at 6:00 a.m. until 08:00 p.m. same day. While purchasing the phone, the company may charge you extra for the Shipping cost.
