Its been long, since Whatsapp launched the Voice calling feature on its official app, but still there are many people, who aren’t able to use it, as its not launched globally yet or may be banned by your Telecom Authority. If such is the case with you, you can try the below method.

This post is for all those struggling to make a call via Whatsapp in U.A.E. Yes the Telecom Authority in U.A.E has banned Whatsapp calling in the region. Not only whatsapp but IMO also doesn’t work here. Techplayce got it’s hands on to find a solution for it. And here we are :

How to enable whatsapp calling:

1. Download Betternet  from playstore.

2. There is no registration, no fee for signing.

3. Open the app and click on connect.

connect to betternet disconnect

4. Once the it’s connected you can enjoy your free calling feature.

Before betternet.

P.S: There are various other VPN application available but we found Betternet best among all.

Download from Playstore: Betternet

  • I am from Gujarat, India. Government has banned whatsapp in Gujarat state for a few days. I am using whatsapp on my laptop using bluestacks. Can you tell me how can I bypass the limitation forced by authorities? Betternet is not working. I can not create a VPN.

  • What I’ve noticed is that if your whatsapp account was created using a phone number outside UAE for eg: India (or other country without TRA restrictions) then It works via betternet.

  • If have UAE number
where ever you are u cannot call by whats app better net is working in UAe for whats app call only when you have whatsapp number other then UAE then better net works

  • Even Betternet has now stopped working in UAE now. WhatsApp calling is completely blocked in UAE and now Betternet VPN has also been blocked. No options now to connect IMO or WhatsApp calling.

    • Hi atul, this is mainly due to poor internet connectivity from one end! if its your end , then the person at other end is having issues with the internet. Only this is the currently known issue for your problem. Hoping the answer was helpful.

        Hi,
        Thanks for your message.
When experiencing issues with WhatsApp calls, please try connecting to a different network (such as Wi-Fi connection instead of mobile data, or vice versa). Your current network might not be properly configured for UDP (User Datagram Protocol) which may prevent WhatsApp Calling from functioning properly.
If you are unable to make or receive WhatsApp calls after connecting to your Wi-Fi connection, make sure your router’s security settings and firewall configuration are not blocking certain types of connections in order for WhatsApp Calling to function properly.
If you have any additional questions regarding UDP or Firewall settings, please contact your service provider or network administrator for additional information.
Additionally, your battery saver and bluetooth connection may also cause issues with WhatsApp calls. If your battery saver is turned on or bluetooth is connected, please try disabling them and let us know if the issue still persists.
