Hands on the Xiaomi Redmi Note

Finally, our delivery of Redmi Note arrived. And nothing excites us more than un-wrapping any new gadget.

As we mentioned earlier about the Redmi Note launch in India, we were also amongst those lucky people, who successfully grabbed the order within 6 seconds in first attempt, before all 50,000 units went out of stock. And yes, Flipkart is back in action with its sale.

So, here we have the mini-samurai in our hands !
Believe us, in that price, no other device/company stands in front of Xiaomi Note at this budget. Yes it is a perfect budget friendly tab.

Device and Package

The device comes with 13 Mpx rear and 5 Mpx front camera, 1.7Ghz 8 core processor and Android 4.3 with MIUI. Internal Storage is 8Gb and can be extended to 32Gb using micro SD card. The box contains, your device, 3,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery, Charger and the data-cable. No headphones even this time. Also there weren’t any free goodies like screen-gaurd, cover or other, as for previous devices.

Look and Feel

Device isn’t too bulky. But the body is little glossy, which makes it little tough while picking it up quickly. Thanks to its not so big size, its an one-hand device, you can easily operate it with your one hand. Simcard slots are at the rear, where you need to remove its back-panel. The back panel doesn’t has any marks suggesting where to open from, but, you simply need to enter your nails at micro-usb socket, and pull it upwards, and the cover comes out easily.
Redmi Note has two sim-card slots, one for WCDMA and another for GSM. You are required to remove the battery, every-time to change or insert the sim card.

Camera

This time, Xiaomi has impressed us with its camera, both the cameras are good, provides photos with dimension of 4128 x 3096 pixels and full HD videos of 1080p at 30fps. On one complete charge, you can shoot a video of around 12 hours.

Sensors & more

List of sensors include Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass. FM Radio with recording. And as of its MIUI, you get their custom apps like voice recorder, compass, torch and many more.

Conclusion:

If you want a device to gift, personal use or thinking of Android One, simply go for Redmi Note and its under INR 9000/-. It won’t hurt.
